Novice adult, born in China, raised in Australia and learning from the world. I'm an Australian university student who loves to travel. Personally I haven't had much couchsurfing experience myself but I have met some interesting people who've spoken highly of it, so I am interested in learning more. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I spent a gap year mostly in Taiwan, where I met some of the couchsurfing community. Whilst touring the island solo I met an interesting man who'd visited almost 200 countries and spent a day acting as his translator with the couchsurfing family hosting him in Kaohsiong. They were warm and welcoming and friendly and I have exceptionally fond memories of Kaohsiong because of it. I met some really nice people in Korea and Japan, I've stayed at friends places in Malaysia, and Hong Kong, and a few years ago I went on exchange in Germany where I stayed with a host family. Comparatively the places I've travelled where I've had someone local as a guide or reference I've managed to explore better and develop a closer understanding of. I feel like its a nice way to travel and explore, and learn from people all around the world.

Interests

I am interested in history and politics and art galleries! I like to carefully read gallery text in museum exhibitions. I enjoy eating things I haven't tried before. I like gliding and I am also very interested in learning languages, I speak English, fluent Mandarin, rough conversational German, and survival Japanese and Korean. Also I like cosmetics and makeup, it's something I find very theraputic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I told myself I was going to study for my final exam in two days, and instead I watched every single Victoria's Secret runway show from 2007 - 2014. And also two swimsuit documentaries.

I'm good at holding conversation about all sorts of topics. Otherwise I'm also a good listener. I'd like to learn about your life in your country, and I can teach(?) you things from my perspective about Australia and China, and other places I might have been.
