About Me

My name is Luminita, but you can call me Lumi. I'm from Targu Mures, Romania. I am sorry for the fact that the site appears a different age. I made this account in 2017, when I didn't have the required age for an account and needed accommodation in the Czech Republic on a trip to Germany.

I am an extroverted person, full of energy and I want to travel as much as possible. I accept new challenges and do not like to stay in the comfort zone. I am a sociable person and I do not avoid going out with loved ones or meeting new people. I am a sports person, I like to walk and go on mountain hikes.

I have been researching for 8 years in the World Organization of Scout Movement (ONCR in Romania) and I am an active volunteer in festivals. I have been involved for 5 years in organizing a local festival called the Festival of Light and other local events done by scouts for the community.

I try to order my life so that I live environmentally. I care a lot about the environment, including animals. I have an adopted dog and I also had cats and dogs in the foster care. I love playing with any kind of animals (I'm not afraid of reptiles or large / wild animals). I have cat allergies, but I don't avoid them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have had experiences with couchsurfing in the past. My older sisters used this method to flush and they welcomed travelers. I have known many people from both the country and from other continents.

In 2017 I participated in the Romanian Jamboree and met people from other continents with whom I still keep in touch. In the same year we made a trip to Germany and stopped at the hostel with some wonderful people from the Czech Republic.

I see couchsurfing as a method by which you not only travel low cost, but understand the essence of travel and the "life" of a country knowing new people and sharing life stories.

Interests

My first interest is to make new friends and learn eanglish better. Also learning new things is my speciality. ^^ If the time is good I can make a little show for you whit some poi spinning or learn from you new movements in the art of juggling. :D

Music, Movies, and Books

I do not have certain musical genres that displease me. I like instrumental music, but I can't say I dislike electronic music. In principle I choose folk in the field of music. I like to play folk at camp fires, I play a little on guitar but I prefer to avoid because I'm not a pro. However, jazz, blues and rock concerts will always be welcome.

I like adventure stories, science fiction and autobiographies. Among my favorite books are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter volumes, 27 de Pasi by Tibi Useriu, Darkness Descending by Ken Jones.

I love animated movies. I watched anime, Disney and nondisney movies, series like Friends, Lucifer, Game of thrones. Currently my favorite series is Dragon Prince.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2019 I started my first trip through the country on my own. I participated in 5 scout camps and volunteered at the Transylvania International Film Festival, Jazz in the Park, Electric Castle and others. In 2020 we applied to the Discover EU program together with 1 more friend, where we were accepted, and for the moment we are preparing our trip in August 2021.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always enjoyed learning and experiencing new things and I am open to new challenges. I want to share conversations, laughter and memories at the table or at a boardgame.

I know how to juggle with day and fire poi, I had small local shows and through the country of jugglers with fire. I managed to make my own poi and sell them, becoming a craftsman. I can teach people the basics of juggling with poi. ^^

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a pleasant experience with the host, whether it is at home at a serving of traditional meal (maybe even Romanian;) ) or in a pub for a beer.
I am an orderly person and I keep the cleanliness behind me.
