ABOUT ME

The name is Julien, and it's nice to meet you :) I'm a 33 years old geek who enjoys travelling and sharing. I'm an easygoing person, I love listenning to travellers stories, and sharing mine to whoever wants to hear them. You are more than welcome to stop me while I talk as I could go on and on !

I've been lucky enough to travel to many places, mostly in Europe and North America. South America and Asia are on the list as well, and hope to get the chance to there quickly.

PHILOSOPHY

I have long time friends that I know from high school, but I strongly believe the people you get to meet while traveling can become as important as them.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I actually haven't hosted anyone yet, even though I've been a long time member. If I can't host you, ask me about things to see, or to do in Bordeaux ! We can share a drink (or two), a meal or simply go on a walk as you discover the city and I pretend I know everything about it while I've just been studied Wikipedia ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been a while since I've logged in. So far I've crashed on a couch in Austin, slept on a floor in Nashville while on a road trip across the USA and met people making their own beer near Philadelphia. While there I also got the chance to meet an incredible couple with whom I had a strong connection right away. These guys are the kindness in person. They weren't able to host me and my gf, but they proposed to meet at a bar and things just clicked. To this day we still talk : )

Interests

I'm a geek, focused on IT Security, because of my work but mainly because I'm fascinated by that field. I love to explain what I do and share things about this. I that doesn't work for you it's ok, this isn't my only interest ;) I play handball, which I heard isn't very know everywhere. I love music, even though I've been stuck listenning to same artists for a few months now. I you wanna drop band names, go for it, I'd be happy to give it a go !

I'm pretty much open minded, and I could watch a cheesy romantic comedy as well as deep movies such as the Robocop series :]

* Movies: Lost in translation, Vanilla Sky, the Back to the Future series and ... IT (yeah I know, idk why but that clown isn't that scary to me =))
* Music: Above and Beyond, RJD2, Wax Tailor, Moby, Air, Bonobo, Juno Reactor, Rage Against The Machine, Muse, Royksopp ...
- Books: Good Omen, The Art of Deception, The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (not a big reader)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm basically the technical geek type of guy, so if you need me to, I can help if you have a website or need a small one, I could fix your computer, help you using some softwares, etc... I have basic knowledge in Photography and I'd be glad to share some with you ! I love taking silly pics, even though I don't consider myself as a really creative person, I keep trying haha

I'd love to learn guitar / bass, just not sure I'm patient enough (although I'm not that bad at guitar hero ... :x)
