About Me

I left my home country, Brazil, one year ago to study in the UK. I got my undergrad in Psychology, but I decided to follow my true passion and now I'm doing a Master's degree in Literature - I really love reading and writing, so I'm having a great time on the course. In the meantime, I'm on a mission to get to know as much of the world as I can and have unforgettable experiences. Another mission is to hug and/or pet every cat I come across (I'm quite an animal lover) and so far I think I've been doing well enough on both! Especially with the cats, though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's another little piece of adventure I want to add to my experiences. I'm planning my first ever solo trip, with no friends, family or partner for company (which I'm a bit nervous about), so I think couchsurfing would be a good way to get to know a lovely new place with the help of a local and also make new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm quite an avid pop culture fan, so I'll have a lot of that covered, from low budget horror movies to Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. I'm pretty keen on series in general too, and right now I'm rewatching Doctor Who and Gilmore Girls.
As for books, of course I'm a huge literature geek, so I'm reading all the time - classics, fantasy, dystopias, horror, you name it. The last ones I've finished were Wuthering Heights and Stardust by Neil Gaiman :) I love comic books and graphic novels as well and I'm especially fond of Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman (hence why
I wanted to explore more of his work - I read The Sandman and it blew my mind).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This summer I hitchhiked for the first time with my boyfriend, who is more experienced in it and talked me into it. It was amazing! It was something I never pictured myself doing before, so it opened my mind a lot and gave me a lot of confidence. We left London towards Land's End in Cornwall, the westernmost point in England, and went by a lot of incredible places on the journey there, like Dartmoor National Park and Porthcurno (such a spectacular beach like you wouldn't believe England is capable of). It was the best way to experience the true English lifestyle and get to know the most quintessential parts of its cultures - not to mention that it feels great to meet so many nice people whose kindness you're relying on. I also camped and stayed at a hostel for the first time!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I have a lot of tasty vegetarian dishes I can teach - and I guess some artistic makeup skills too, if anyone's interested. I want to keep learning new languages and practice the ones I know, so that's always pretty interesting!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of tales, great talks and board game nights :)
