ABOUT ME

i'm a fairly ordinary every day girl. i grew up on a farm north of tisdale, saskatchewan and have always wanted to travel. i moved to regina for my pre-journalism right after highschool and changed my mind and decided i wanted to maybe take a year or two off, do some traveling and then head back to school for my true passion; anthropology. i didnt do as much traveling as i would have liked. it was hard to save enough money for both school when i went back and for a any sort of traveling. i did manage a few roadtrips and a big trip out to santa cruz two summers ago but another trip is long overdue. i am planning to save up enough to go down to australia to work for a year in early october. the plan is in the making anyways. other than daydreaming about travel, i like to paint, read, write, kayak, snowboard, cook, bake, sculpt with clay, and i have an inner gardener but so far i can only have house plants (one day i will have a massive garden!). i love animals and have a cat that is currently being taken care of by my parents because i cant have pets in my apartment.
anything else you want to know you only need to ask, i am very laid back and relaxed. i try not to stress about the little things and it seems to make life a lot more refreshing.

PHILOSOPHY

don't take life too seriously. you do only live once and you can't let the little things get you down. if you want something work hard, if you fail, work harder. it's a matter of time i have found, i used to lack patience with getting the things i wanted from life and i've been working on the waiting thing. sometimes it just takes time to get there. i think that if you have a crazy spontaneous unrealistic idea, it is important you try your best to make it come to be. the best things in life are usually the crazy things, out of the ordinary, try to follow through with what your heart tells you it wants. and i guess it's all right to not know, it takes a big person to just admit they don't really know shit, all we can do is do our best out there, learning learning learning.

Interests

music is the biggest thing, i love listening to new artists, to all my favourites, always expanding my knowledge of what is out there. next up would have to be movies, i'm not a movie buff but pretty close. i love independent films, canadian work, and a lot of french stuff. if it's a bit different and full of real life, i'll probably love it. i'm a big fan of local art, any sort of art that grabs my attention. i love when people spill a bit of their souls into their medium and even better if i can relate to what they are showing. poetry, short stories, novels, i love reading and usually have at least a few books on the go. anthropology is my main interest, i want to learn as much as i can about the world, there is so much i want to see but i don't want to rush my way. after my degree i plan to work my way around the world to get the marrow of different cultures stories. i love different ways of life and learning about the roles in societies, rituals, symbols, magic, anything like that. also, i love animals, if we were allowed more in the place we are living we would definitely have them.

snowcake is my favourite movie right now! but that's prolly because i just saw it last night. i love moulin rouge, the science of sleep, perfume, benny and joon, the little mermaid, high fidelity, the goonies, my life without me, pan's labyrinth, the fountain...there are so many..
