ABOUT ME

I'm Luna and I live in Aarhus, where I study music.
I love it, but during a year I find it necessary for me to get out of Denmark to gain new inspiration and to constantly remind me of the fact that there is a big world out there.
So yeah, I love to travel and meet new people! Learning languages is a great interest of mine and therefore i will probably try to communicate with you in your mother language, even if I only know a few words. So sorry for that.

My father was born in Turkey and came as a 10 years old boy in the 70's to Denmark due to the official invitation from the danish government. Here he met my mother who is Danish. I have found it incredibly important to investigate my kurdish/turkish roots. Both sides are a part of me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is an amazing way to get to know locals, to travel in a different way. It is so great to meet people who's philosophy in life isn't built on the lack of knowledge and fear because they open their doors to other people, fearlessly. It's incredible!

Interests

The music of the world is so rich and since every modern genre is built on old traditions from all over det world, I find it so appealing.
I sing turkish folk music, but I love folk music in general no matter where it comes from. How cool would it be to know a song from every country in the world!

I have a band called "aysay" where we play music that is based on my background. Here I get to musically investigate in the rich culture of both eastern and western music and combine them.
