About Me

CURRENT MISSION

When life crumbles apart, you must start from scratch. And that's what I'm trying to do.

ABOUT ME

A bit shy at first, tend to ask many questions in order to figure out what should I do in another country... Well, my big eyes doesn't lie :P Honest, independent, holding strong to life with an insatiable curiosity about pretty much anything (from neuroscience to international politics, not to mention cooking and art in general). I'm generous, talkactive, very open minded, tolerant, and friendly. I love to laugh (specially at myself) until tears and make other people laugh as well. I enjoy doing that as much as I love to give away smiles and hugs (which I need to keep my inner peace as well as chocolate and dark coffee). I'm very absent-minded and very (extremely) impatient when dealing with computers and printers!

PHILOSOPHY

"Traveling saved my life" was something that I read on the back of a t-shirt, and that's true for sure. Getting out of my confort zone wasn't something that I've chosen, it was life that pushed me. Never have I felt scarier but, at the same time, never have I felt such a happiness and the sense that not matter what, even when my bank account is getting smaller and smaller that I'm doing the right thing.

I travel as way to make sense of what's going on and in order to get some hope as well.

I travel because that's the way to get to know other people just like me, and to realise that no matter where you are from or which language we speak we are human beings with plenty of things in common, and we can be friends and help each other.

I tavel to keep in mind how beatiful this world can be and allow myself to feel the sense of wonder as if I were child.

I travel because it's one of the best way to learn and to put generosity into practice.

I travel because we can share the most precious thing that we have: our time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books.... Many! A loooove to read. Nigella Lawson, Anthony Bourdain and Jamie Oliver's cooking books. Brave New World (Aldous Huxley), 1984 (George Orwell), any from José Saramago, Milán Kundera, Yolanda Oreamuno, Mario Benedetti, Kafka, Nietzche, Julio Cortázar, Borges. Persepolis (Marjane Satrapi), Maus (Art Spiegelman)'s graphic novels... (I studied literature so, do you really want me to write down the whole list?!)

Music? From Frank Sinatra, Edith Piaf and Nancy Sinatra singing "Bang, bang" to... Salsa?! ;) Love music from Brazil (puts me in the happier mood ever), Japanese pop and of couse plenty to tacky songs in Spanish (that of couse I know by heart), not to mention radiohead among other English speaking bands. Jazz and this fun band called Pink Martini.

Movies... many. Let's talk about that with either coffee, beer or red wine. Ok, whisky it's be fine as well. Ok, all of them.

(Once in a lifetime)

"being selfish is the biggest life's deny" Citlali Ferrer

Oliveiro Girondo

"I much as I enjoy solitute, I wouldn't mind, perhaps, spending little time with you." Bjork, "Possibly maybe"
