About Me

To work as an artist and for that work to support me enough to fund making more art. To travel as much as possible, finding places and people that inspire me.

ABOUT ME

My friends would probably say that I am funny, warm, thoughtful, creative, very sociable. I laugh lots and cry sometimes. I think they would say I am generally someone they would come to when in need and discuss ideas with. Generous and welcoming though often juggling many things. You know the saying that if you want something done you should ask a busy woman? Well I've been that woman most of my life and am trying to learn not to be.

PHILOSOPHY

The freedom to swing your arm should stop before another persons face.
Respect for and celebration of diversity is more rewarding than tolerance.

Breath as though your life depends on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE I have been a member of CS for just over a year and love the community I have found here. I have spent much of my early life relying on the generosity of others while travelling and have maintained a fairly open door policy in my home. If there is room to fit you somewhere you will always be welcome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have couch surfed from New Mexico up to British Columbia and no two experiences were the same.

Interests

I am doing a sculpture degree and I love to work creatively. Making things gets me really excited but so does thinking deeply. I love feeling connected, with the planet and all those I live here with. I laugh lots and want to experience as much life as possible. Really amazing art, be it a movie, painting, music etc. Art in a wider sense and good in the sense that it moves me. I want to see as much of the world as possible in the time I have on this earth.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bagdad Café is a favourite film though I love many others, including everything directed by Deepa Meta. I also love the Coen Brothers and Terry Gilliam. Books: The Famished Road, The Night Circus and many others. Music: almost any genre though don't know much opera.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Holding my newborn babies in my arms (all grown up now) and later holding my granddaughters for the first time. Lying in a field watching a Myriad of shooting stars. I was once in a road accident and a truck driver picked up the front of my car and swivelled it on it's back wheels out of the way of oncoming traffic, amazing. Studying Abroad.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have ridiculous amounts of very disparate knowledge. Never been focused on just one thing. Education (home education especially), vegan cooking, painting and sculpture, forum theatre, spirituality, sacred sites, ritual, healing, herbalism(would like to learn and share what I know) tarot, womens' studies, literature.
Would love to learn more languages, get better at eco-builds and practical traditional skills and skills for living by helping with projects. Learn an instrument, be more fit. Dance.

Canada, France, Germany, Spain, United States
