I have been traveling for a while and I plan to continue traveling for another year or so. Right now I'm in Ecuador, I live in an ecological community volunteering for an organization of independent volunteers that was born after the earthquake that hit Ecuador on April 16, 2016. I live my life doing good to other people and always making sure that I do to others what I want others to do to me!! I am honest, respectful and communicative to people because I expect them to give me the same thing. I am always very happy for the people who decide to leave their rutinary lives to travel and have new and memorable experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a newby!!!! I started doing couch surfing with a friend about a month ago. My first experience was in Munich, our host was really nice and we had a great time together. We are good friends now!! Then I went to Zurich and had a very uncomfortable, negative experience. After that, I am very hesitant to accept a host offer from a guy so for now, I hope to find cool female hosts or real kind and respectful guy hosts.

I'm in couch surfing to meet new people while traveling abroad, hopefully click with them and make long lasting friendships. I am not interested in hooking up. I understand that sometimes people click in a sexual manner and maybe it could happen that two couch surfers meet and like each other? I think that's pretty awesome if both parties are into it. Though, if one party is not interested and the other party keeps pushing for something to happen, it makes the experience of couch surfing uncomfortable and can become dangerous.
It gets very frustrating when you trust somebody's profile and think the host is going to be nice and helpful but ends up making you feel uncomfortable. Just because a woman is traveling by herlself, it doesn't mean she is looking for sexual action in couch surfing. I personally love the idea of couch surfing; going to somebody's home, get to know that person, explore the city you are visiting with a local and have a good time.

I'm open minded, though it seems to me that guys think that open minded means " i want to have sex with all my surfers and hosts." I am an open minded person, and by that I mean that I do not care about your religious belief, sexual orientation, gender, race, occupation. To me you are equal and deserve the same respect that I deserve and if you are up to hang out, go to museums, party, go for a run, taking shots, then let's get the party started!!!!
I'm open minded in the sense that I support equality 1000% and cannot tolerate injustice, sexism, racism, or any thing that disrespects humanity.

Couch surfing is NOT a dating site for people traveling abroad or an easy way to get a girl into bed. I believe that when male hosts make a move on a girl traveling by herself is an abuse of power and it transforms something that is supposed to be fun and exciting into an unconfortable and sometimes scary experience.
I have met quite a few girls who tell me that many male hosts try to make a move on them and after that it is not the same.

Interests

I love hiking, riding my bike, running. I enjoy going to specific museums and I'm very interested in social issues. I really like to share experiences with other surfers, get to know them and hopefully make traveling buddies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I have done so far is to hike to Machu Picchu in 5 days and four nights from a city close to Cuzco. It was a great and unique experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a voice and I am not afraid to use it. I'm not interested in hooking up with other couch surfers, hosts, etc. If there is a connection between us, and we click well, I will be friendly but just because there is a connection and I'm friendly, it doesn't mean that I want to have sex with you. If I'm interested in you in that way, you will know for sure!!!!

I can teach you history, and you can teach me history. I enjoy having conversations about social issues and crazy things that happened in your country.
I can also teach you how to take shots!!! I enjoy going out, bar hopping, dancing or sitting and having a beer.

I would like to learn about you and your life and travel experiences, and I would like to share with you my travel and life experiences as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would like to give a huge THANKS to all the people who are willing to be hosts. Being a host is doing a very selfless thing for others, you offer your home to someone you don't know, allow them to sleep on your couch, show them your city or the city you live in and make great experiences together. For that, KARMA will do its job and pay you with awesome people and experiences and you will have a great feeling in your heart of having made friends who will welcome you with open arms when you travel to their countries.

I would also like to give a huge SHAME ON YOU to hosts who think that you can take advantage of a surfer who is traveling by his/herself. Please, if you are not going to be respectful in every way to other surfers, then DO NOT HOST, it is that simple. Do not expect something physical in return. I am sure that you could find that special someone while doing couch surfing, but PLEASE do not think that if someone accepts your offer to stay at your place, he/she wants something other than a friendship.
If you are a straight guy, I would suggest you read the cues the surfer is giving you, maybe she is interested in you, and if that is the case, then let the magic happen, but if she doesn't seem interested, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, do not make a move. You have no idea how unconfortable the situation becomes.
