ABOUT US

We are a funny and easy-going couple, love to travel and to meet new people all over the world. We both met, studied and live in Salzburg. I (Irene) am a teacher in high school (for italian ,ancient greek and german as a second/foreign language), Lukas is a sports photographer and will soon become a teacher for sports and geography.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Started in summer 2008 and already met awesome people from all over the world, either hosting or being hosted :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

- Couchsurfing in Thailand with nice buddies form Israel and America
- CS all around the US East Coast, from North to South :-) all in all seven lovely hosts/host families
- Hosted people from Austria, Australia, China, Germany, Israel, New Zealand, Spain and lots of guys from the US so far.
- CS at a lovely family's house in the north of London. They invited us spontaneously, as we were desperate searching for someone to stay after our hosts cancelled one day in advance. They saved our trip! :-)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

- the beaches on Gili Air, Bali and Lombok (Indonesia)
- being at the top of a volcano on Lombok after 2 days of climbing nearly 4000m. we never thought we would make it :-D

To travel means to widen your horizon. No matter, where you go, you meet different cultures, landscapes, attitudes and people. All these impressions and experiences influence you in some way and you learn a lot of them, so that you grow to some kind of a "richer" person, which has influence also on your daily routine and your surroundings. It helps to understand more about the world and yourself.
