About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reject the status-quo in search of a more fulfilling existence. Love more!

ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student pursuing a degree in Art Education. I try to keep my life simple and enjoy my days.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing! But I want to host surfers and perhaps sleep on some couches myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Through bike touring I've come to know many gracious couch owners. There was an old couple who rescued our group from the rain, a couple in a cabin on top of a mountain who made us burritos, houses of kids trying to find a sustainable way to live together, and people who'd never heard of bike touring offering their yards and kitchens. It restores my faith in humanity!

Interests

I draw all the time and ride my bike everywhere I go. I like to grow food, make things, write letters, help people, drink coffee, walk across town, create adventures, build forts, have dinner parties, and dance at shows among other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. Currently on my list are Virginia Woolf: Monday or Tuesday, Howard Zinn: A People's History of the United States, Robert Hughes: Frank Auerbach, and Aesop's Fables.
I also love to sing, and when other people sing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise at Grand Canyon
Arriving at the ocean via 700 mile bike ride
Phosphorescent dolphins bow-riding

Teach, Learn, Share

Skill Sharing is of great interest! I have a number of crafty skills: Embroidery, sewing, mending/altering, etc. I have taught drawing before. I have a pretty basic (in comparison to many people) understanding of organic farming, but have a few tricks up my sleeve. I can bind books. I know how to make a great hobo stove. I have a fair amount of bike mechanic skills. I recently learned how to make a lattice-top pie crust!
I want to learn anything you can teach me!
