ABOUT ME

Hello everyone, daer CSers,I’m Cathy, a junior in the shanghai international studies university, studying English language and literature.

Patient, friendly, easygoing, optimistic and passionate, are the best words to describe me, so I like to make friends with different people and I’m quite interested in different culture.

Last summer, I participate in a summer camp held by NGO and do the volunteer work in Czech Republic, which focuses on culture exchange and children activities in some libraries. I think it may be the most special and meaningful experience in my life, for I feel so happy to be with those cute kids and share my ideas and culture with them.

At the same time, I have learned a lot about Czech and Europe, because I have read a lot of information about here, and during the two months, I have traveled to many places with friends in our free time.

I love traveling, for I think it’s the best way to know a place better, and the best thing during travel is to make many friends from different countries and share our stories and experiences with each other, which is a great treasure for me.

Now I’m looking forward to exploring Korea and meeting you!!! Let’s hug the world!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Before I came to Europe, many friends---Andre recommended Couch Surfing to me. They said this is a great place to meet more friends and it will make your travel experience more colorful and unforgettable.
Though I’m new here, I’m quite interested to join the CS project. If someone come to Shanghai, the biggest city in China, you can contact me and my family are all ready to host you. And if I’m availabe, I can show you around and I believe I will be the best tour guide :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been host by a mime artist in Germany.He told me a lot about my friend and me. He said we matched each other perfectly and warned me that I would have some problems with my right leg when I old. Keep doing some exercise.That was interesting!

And Petra in Prague.She was so kind and told me a lot about some typical presents to bring to home.And there was a Polish girl in her house who was just coming back from korea. She told me some stories about korea so I was looking forwad to go to korea!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a native Chinese. So I have an overall perspective of Chinese history, arts and culture as well as the present Chinese social reality. If you are interested in any aspect of China, I am willing to tell you as much as I can, and I can teach you to speak Chinese if you want :)

I have learnt to do a lot of specific things related to China, such as traditional Chinese handcrafts, basic Chinese calligraphy, making Chinese tea, etc. More importantly, I can cook delicious Chinese food, if you want to have a taste, I'm ready to cook many kinds of dishes for you.

On the other hand, I am eager to learn more about the other coutries, like how people's life there, their history, geography, culture, art, religion and so on.

I think life is a process of constant learning. I believe after our sharing, we will get more than we can expect!!!
