Easy going friendly individual, living in Halifax for the past 7 years, after 15 years living in the USA. I have traveled extensively to South East Asia (18 months) and Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras.
Did the around the world trip many years ago including Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India...

PHILOSOPHY

Try to take each day as it comes... taking in the present moment by moment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted many people but I have had wonderful experiences being hosted....I am currently visiting Scotland for 4 weeks which is a trip of a lifetime!

兴趣

I enjoy cooking ( I am a bit of a foodie), drinking hoppy beer, life experiences ...being mindful and grateful for all I have been given, I am passionate about music especially Folk, Celtic and Blues, Love road trips, camping and the great outdoors.

I have been a public health nurse for 25+ years....currently looking for work ...traveling has been my best teacher.

Blues, Celtic, Folk ... I am a music festival junkie and I attend a lot of music festivals in Atlantic Canada - if you ever want to volunteer at Stan Rogers Folk Festival - I always need volunteers.
Other favourites include: Guy Davis, Etta James, Eric Clapton, East Coast musicians like Thom Swift,
Books - I love reading some favorites include: The Secret Life of Bees; "The Brain That Changes Itself" ; Dennis Lehane - "A Given Day".

Traveled around the world - treked the Annapurna's in Nepal, volunteered at Kathmadu Eye Hospital, taught English in Indonesia-visited Borubodur,Java; Orangutans in Bornea; Attended a Kumbha Mela festival in Ujjain, India; Khajuraho temples, Taj Mahal, Adinatha- Jain Temple in India, worked / volunteered with Medical group doing surgery in Guatemala -visited Tikal, Palenque, Copan Ruinas and many other Mayan ruins.

I love sharing other cultures, my parents were very hospitable and open. Enjoy sharing the beauty of Nova Scotia with others. I think of myself as a perpetual learner...

Love of life, willingness to cook, share travel tales, knowledge of Atlantic Canada...love of Music....and I don't mind doing dishes or cleaning...I am very respectful of people's homes and blessed with many friends.
