Why I’m on Couchsurfing

✅ I've made some very good FRIENDS from various parts of our planet 🗺️ (each of them being quite a unique 🎲 source🃏 of inspiration🀄 and some of them I have enthusiastically seen many times again 😄) as well as a lot of fond memories 📸 in inspiring places ⛪ The joyful games go on 😊🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏼‍♀️🍛🍵👟💠🥳🎃🚆⛩️🍣🖼️🌺🌄🌌🐚🌫️

✅ Traveling 🛣️ to meet locals 🌄🏞️🌌 is the most authentic way to have a deeper and constructive 💠 approach of different views, opinions, cultures... and helps making some wanderers better versions of themselves by enjoying the HOSPITALITY 🏘️ of reasonably decent members of this community.
I actually tend to believe, even though in proportion they also could gradually go with more complex challenges 📊 the most respectable societies are the ones able to both constantly raise social standards in a sustainable way and constructively live with various cultures 🎨 (there are rather few examples in our world 🗺️ really meeting these two conditions so common sense would be to sort out the mess at home if our genuine intention is to sound credible when preaching virtue abroad 😉), also bearing in mind (USSR, Tian'anmen...) that the road to hell is paved with good intentions ;-)
I have gathered some meaningful🍹and on various occasions wonderful 🌸 experiences within this community and thus have also drawn 🖼️ some observations / comparisons, hopefully a bit more impartial / original than the trendy online anarchy / gaslighting / catharsis this little cute community isn't immune to ⚕️ I assume some fortuitous life events 🎇 unveiled, some sort of natural envy 🍯 (catalyzed 🐝 by outdated / poorly designed 🖲️privacy settings) shouldn't be that far 😁 Although looking at the glass full🥛I'd trust most of active 👥 experienced members deserving credit for healthily 🥗 boosting 🎉 the CS spirit and generously shaping a common ☯️ identity to this community, the supposedly fully transparent 👓 auto MODERATION 🧑‍💻 of a worldwide horizontal reputational community made in reality by mostly occasional travelers 😎 (or various passive phone addicted non CS contributors aka @instagram/TikTok gen) of very different backgrounds / characters / cultural reflexes / lifestyles / mindsets / values and promoted by this platform, in fact results in some practical issues I won't go on at length 🔍 here but for collective sports 🏀🏉⚽🏐 fans, a simple analogy would be attending 🥳 a tournament game 🏟️ between teams from different national leagues with a jury of non pondered / prepared supporters randomly picked from both sides as referees💡The spectacle expected probably wouldn't be as pleasant as discussing a thrilling book with like minded people 📚 heating 🪩 the dancefloor with some happy people 🕺🏽💃🏼 embracing the beauty of mother nature 🌄 or meditating / hiking 🏔️ with some good ☑️ friends ! The exciting (or better said relaxing) news for well wishers 🌝🌹🦋🎊 seeking to be inspired 👥 positively are, with or without the unhappy, the joyful are welcome ! (end of the parenthesis) 😅
Some wanderers pretend "to see all the world" 🌏 and in my opinion finally come back ✈️with roughly the same set of mind and Ctrl+C - Ctrl+V quite irrelevant views as in their younger age 🤳🏻 There's also the other way 🚞 more committing, uncertain, irregular, challenging, murky, disappointing, rewarding, self-fulfilling : some TRAVELERS rather choose to see life as a journey of constant introspection by interacting constructively with buddies from various parts of the world 👘🎄🪆🪔 and with a little bit of will, patience and luck, achieving the tricky exercise of staying 🛋️ away from biases and vanities, may in the end unpretentiously make an outstanding addition to life 🌱 on this awesome planet 🗺️
In an environment where peace is jeopardized, when some guys are at odds, I tend to have a neutral opinion. Understandably I simply don't pretend to mingle with what's none of my affairs, ball 🏉 at the center ;-) Otherwise whenever possible, I'm supportive to acquaintances, friends and the ones really in need 🌻
In the tides of (often polarizing) online content we connect through, I set some priorities in the type of information I am interested in and actually care more about topics common to the majority of the inhabitants on earth, like education 📚 global warming💧or tech patterns ⌨️ Trying to walk my opinions, I like to live with sobriety 🪴 Generally speaking I prefer face to face 🗣️🍵 MEETINGS (travelers with a scientific🔬 background even more welcome as they usually tend to spread less BS than the average) to virtual 🌐 media ✍🏼 consumption as they make much more concrete 🎴 our pretensions, goals or aspirations and reduce the gap between largely made up imaginaries 🌈 and shifting 🌫️ realities
I do not embrace any precise philosophy, there's always some room to learn more about ourselves and others 🙂
