About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding fellow radically positive change makers to live with while we work together to change the world!

ABOUT ME

I'm Lydia, and I'm new to San Diego! I lived in Santa Barbara and L.A for most of my college-age life, and most recently lived in Portland, OR. I only left because I couldn't really be happy so far from the beach.
I'm super into hiking with my little 13 lbs yorkie/ jack russ terrier child (who can pretty much out hike me- don't under estimate the little lady!). I have an unusually giant faith in humans. I think we all want to make the world a little better, and the way that I'm working to make that happen is through naturopathic medicine, artisan herbal tea, food, art, playing with dogs, reading, you know- the important stuff. I love yoga and hula hooping, but I'm not very good at either in practice. Together, my dog and I know a grand total of about two hoop tricks.

PHILOSOPHY

1) There isn't a person in the world who you wouldn't love if you knew their story.
2) You can tell almost everything you need to know about a person based on how they talk about Star Wars.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently looking for a cozy little home out here where I can really 1) settle in for the next 10 years of school I have ahead of me, and 2) get my tea business started. I'm not good at documenting interactions with couch surfers, but I don't really trust people to "get me" until I learn that they have a couch surfer account ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a few people in Santa Barbara, couch surfed for 6 weeks in Portland, and more. It's definitely a lifestyle of sharing/travelling that I enjoy and highly engaging in. People who travel are so inspiring!

Interests

Books, writing, sharing food, growing food, animals, trying new things, creating a world that meets everyone's needs, philosophy, talking about feelings and the shared human experience, science fiction, art, fashion, entrepreneurship, the sun, math, dancing all night, jokes, other people's babies, hearing about what makes people excited, magic, numbers, I can nerd out to anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I dabbled in screenwriting, so I can nerd out pretty hard about movies.
I played the flute and sang in choirs for years, dabbled in piano and guitar, want to learn banjo and bass super badly. I love any style of music from country to electronic to rap to classical. I love the most crazy indie bands all the way up to the most overplayed pop music. A song is a piece of someone's soul, I don't understand what's not to love about any song.
Books are good. I like books. Books are sacred to me.
