HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just relocated from Vermont to New Orleans. I can't host overnight at the moment...but I'd love to show you around (i'm new to the city myself but love a partner to wander aimlessly with....and i do know a few key spots!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on many couches, floors, bathtubs etc... It's a wonderful feeling to be out of your comfort zone and in a new location. I have yet to host a surfer but have attended gatherings and stayed with a couple amazing gals.

Interests

music, theatre, nature, Lena Horne, really great fiction, writing, dance, stones, fort building, poetry (especially live)... my last meal would be seaweed sald, almonds, and black liquirice. Swing music, dirty scary electronica..we should just talk.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bertolt Brecht, Mark Twain, Haruku Murikami,Tom Robbins, Don Delillo, Terry Tempest Williams, camus, Chuck Palaniuk,david foster wallace,I have just started Infinite jest... but think I might bail. Recent books I've enjoyed are the prophet, Kafka on the Shore, Tipping the Velvet, as nature made him, White Noise, sexing the body, A confederacy of Dunces, Between time and timbuktu (and plenty of other Vonnegut), the Alchemest, Lolita (is a masterpiece), another roadsite attraction...every murikami book, desolation angels, a portrait of the artist as a young man..etc etc.

movies include Orlando, The tripplets of Bellevillve, children of Paradise, run lola run, tipping the velvet, the goonies,Hedwig and the angry inch, The General, Henry Fool, a streetcar named desire, Eternal Sunshine, speaking parts, Fight club, Brazile etc etc..

music... goodness. LOTS. I've most recently been listeing to live electronica (pendulum, bonobo, the flashbulb, moshi moshi, mark farina, lemon jelly..on and on and on...), as well as traditional irish and contra tunes, and my main ladies Edith Piaf and Lena horne. THE DISCO BISCUITS.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

pet a deer while on acid. no i swear..i have sober witnesses. Though Its safe to say I am past my party prime :)
