Sobre mí

My fiancé Patrick and I are learning how to really relax and take life easy.. we’ve been on the road since February 2019!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

Sometimes during my travels, I come across people and we connect just for a short moment. Such deep conversations are had that just absolutely expand my mind, as people let me into their worlds and show me their perspectives on things. I really treasure these conversations - they are literally the reason I travel.

Intereses

I am colourfully tattooed, thoughtful, open-minded, adventurous and fiercely independent. You’ll never catch me outside of a pair of boots! Nothing makes me happier than big, blue skies in the countryside; stumbling across amazing gluten free food; live bands and the air on my skin when I’m riding my VstromDL650. A little bit of meditation and yoga here and there is imperative for me!
I’m a qualified wedding stylist and planner, social worker and sociologist. I’ve lived in many farms and spiritual communities around the world, as well as out of my car whilst I drove around Australia (the more I’ve travelled overseas, the more I’ve realised I need to travel my own country too!). I’ve flipped pancakes, practiced latte art, rang church bells at weddings and herded cows for a living; always volunteering on the side ~ The coolest volunteering job I ever had was driving a van decked out with washing machines/dryers/a shower around to homeless people to help them with their washing and have a good chat with them :)

Música, películas y libros

I am a metal head (Parkway Drive, 5FDP, La Dispute, Counterparts, Make Them Suffer, etc)🤘🏻 But here’s some more alternative faves to prove that I’m not pre-disposed..!
Angus and Julia Stone - Chateau
The Beach Boys - Good Vibrations
Tash Sultana - Notion
Led Zepplin - When the Levee Breaks
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (whole album)
Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison
Borns- Clouds

I like arthouse, thriller, romance, drama, action, and more alternative movies, however the overarching favourite is Bridget Jones!💌

I’m all about those book swaps at the hostels.📚

Algo increíble que he hecho

Explored the abandoned nuclear disaster town of Chernobyl and Pripyat. Taken a year off to travel the world with my fiancé. Went on an 11 day vision quest in the Amazon Jungle and a shorter one in the Andes mountains of Bolivia. I sung at the Sydney Opera House in my old choir twice. I’ve tried busking, went to a 3 day talk by the Dalai Lama, went to the Moulin Rouge and I learnt barrel racing on horseback.

At the age of 19 I did these things:
-Spent 3 months in the Philippines with only $500AUD, so my adventures came from meeting people on the bus/asking for directions, then meeting their friends/family to also travel with
-Quit my job and took my station wagon around Australia (especially QLD) for 3 months. I slept in the boot for a lot of that time
-Worked at a cattle station 240,000acres in size for a month
-Did my first of two Vipassana courses (10 days of 10hrs meditation per day, no interactions with people, no food after midday, etc)
-Helped carry a bear in a small cage from one enclosure to another in Northern Thailand

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I can make a great North-Indian chai tea or a tumeric latte, and I am a professional goat milker👌🏻 I also have some experience in gardening and 5+ years in hospitality.

If I could leave anything behind in the world, I would make sure that others saw the world as I did with no barriers, so that they could live the most fulfilling life possible with no regrets.

(Patrick had his own handyman/gardening business back in Aus, and he has an extensive knowledge of indoor plants, so please ask him too!)
