About Me

Hello/bonjour!
I am an American student studying abroad in France! I've always been fascinated with traveling, and the highlights of many of my trips are the people I meet.
I would describe myself as open, optimistic, light-hearted, and a wanderer. I'm up for anything, but I love spending time observing the world around me as much as participating in it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Countries and cities are made up of cafés and UNESCO world heritage sites, and natural wonders, but the only way to truly know a country is to talk to people who live there.

I have never hosted, but I'd like to sometime. I have never been a guest either, but I am planning to in April! I'm so grateful for these connections!

Interests

I love reading, singing, traveling (obviously), and arranging music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Beatles, Meghan Trainor, George Ezra, The Ballroom Thieves, and Broadway tunes. I really can love songs in any genre as long as they have beautiful lyrics, a catchy melody, or a good memory attached.

Movies: L'auberge Espagnol, The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Les Intouchables, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Pitch Perfect

Books: Sherlock Holmes (the origionals), Perdido Street Station and anything else by China Mieville,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The biggest step I have taken in changing my life would be living in France for 9 months and going to school here. I left my family, friends, and everything I knew back home and came here. I knew no one at first, but now I feel more at home in Rennes than in Chicago! I haven't climbed a mountain or discovered a new archaeological site, but I've learned how to take ownership of my life and what I want to do with it.

Also, when I was in Belgium, I managed to eat fries and a waffle every day. If that's not amazing, I don't know what is.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am studying International Relations with a double major in French, so I love talking about culture and current events. I can teach French and English.
I love learning new songs and stories, and sharing tips on traveling and living your best life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love singing with people, so I have songs to share, and I love cooking!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
