Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Teaching English, improving my Spanish, learning about Mexico and taking advantage of my time here by seeing wonderful places, meeting wonderful people, and eating wonderful food!
ABOUT ME
Hi! I love meeting new people and experiencing new places, and I'm happiest when engaging with others and gaining insight into their unique points of view on the world. I laugh easily and relish long meals with good conversation. I will arm myself with a plan, but I embrace the particular joy that comes from abandoning expectations and rolling with the punches.
PHILOSOPHY
Appreciate small pleasures, love the beauty in your surroundings and in the people who surround you, relish the opportunities that come from risks both crazy and modest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My couch is open, but I'm gone a lot of weekends traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Lots of lower case couch surfing on friends' couches, working on a more important looking upper case CouchSurfing Experience.
Interests
Lately I've been spending most of my time prepping for classes and exploring Toluca. I love dancing and cooking, and I also enjoy reading, watching films and then discussing them, and walking around taking pictures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Mmm...awestruck. Standing on a cliff with friends overlooking Lake Superior, all blue-silver and shimmering and smooth. Standing on the Ghanaian coast and realizing that home was on the other side of the Atlantic. Being able to go on a casual jog through DC at night and seeing all the lovely white monuments lit up, dodging the tourists. Looking up out of the Grand Canyon. Walking through a 900-year-old university.
Teach, Learn, Share
In some communities in Alaska, adoption is very common, and lacks any kind of social stigma. In fact, while you are forever linked to the family that raises you, you can choose to opt out of your biological relationships. For example, the phrase "She used to be my aunt" would be perfectly comprehensible.
