Overview
About Me
I'm unconventional, left-of-center, think-outside-of-the-box, quirky, and whimsical with a penchant for all things creative. Single mom, curiosity seeker, a master improviser, book smart street smarts. I'm vivacious, funny, sweet, and social but love my solitude too. I'm fiercely loyal...
Love: travel, sushi, hot springs, spicy food, music of all kinds, art, culture, low brow to high brow but prefer sitting and eating on the floor (my eastern background). Voracious lifelong learner, inquisitive, deep, and have a spiritual side (cosmology and animism interplay here).
Some things I've done: Bought and sold domain names, collected rare coins, hung out with Romanian gypsies, sang Tina Turner covers in Macon Georgia, wore red spandex in Saudi Arabia, danced on a rickety stage in Newark, hung out with a bagpiper en route to Paris, escaped a perilous situation in Jersey City, at one time knew all the words to Flashlight by Parliament, became acquainted with Bedouins in Mahabad as a child, and many more interesting tales.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I very much love the idea of reciprocity; I've surfed both ways over the years. I hope to host again once I've situated myself and have a space to share. I love connecting with people of all stripes, cultural exchange, immersion, and the like.
Places I hope to visit:
2025-2032
Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Patagonia, Mexico, Tanzania, Malta, Austria, Slovenia, Macedonia, Norway, Romania, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Laos, Bali, Japan, Jordan, Egypt, Iceland, Denmark, Australia, Antarctica,
Revist: Uruguay, Italy, Turkey, Argentina, Spain, Canada, Greece, Iran, Morroco, Nepal
I would love to connect with you if you live in any of these countries. And/or if you're an artist, traveler, deep thinker, spiritually inclined, or creative soul, we'll no doubt find much in common. NOTE: I'm NOT on CS to hook up! I am very open to friendships, however.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite authors run the gamut from Shakespeare to Sartre, TC Boyle, Pablo Neruda, to Langston Hughes...
My taste in music is very eclectic, when I was a DJ on a college station I tended to play alt-rock, old skool, hip hop, and quirky Americana. But I'm all over the map, Billie Holliday, funk, classical, folk, blues, jazz, indie artists, punk, world music, and rock with a twist and any hybrid form. My radio dial these days? College radio, NPR, KQUED
Movies: Foreign, Indie, period, dark, sci-fi, thrillers, offbeat.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Giving birth to my son probably tops the list:)
Teach, Learn, Share
I hope to make genuine connections, cultural exchanges, friendships near and far. I have met some wonderful people who have become friends. I am as much a teacher as I am a student. The key is an open mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm warm, a giver, down-to-earth, I've taught english conversation classes at UCLA, I'm patient, sensitive, funny, quirky. I love to exchange stories, conversation, laughter.
