ABOUT ME

I am passionate about travel, and would go any place in the world where it is relatively safe...just for the experience. Since becoming a widow 6 years ago, I have traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Arizona, Colorado, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize....and before that Dominican Republic and many European countries. (This needs updating...many countries to add.) See below for Feb 2017 update.

As exciting as the sites I have seen are memories of the people I have met through travel. I can completely retire when I so choose (SOON) and want to fill the next decade with as much travel as I can fit in and pay for. I am as excited about hosting as I am about traveling, as meeting interesting people from different places and cultures is my passion.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am here to meet people and share experiences.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted several parties, 1 who has become a good friend, and would like to do more.

I host people I am interested in meeting, have passed on broadcast requests from college kids who want to come to town for a drinking weekend and want a place to stay. One couple I hosted have invited me to join them in Japan later this year. Recently, I hosted 3 parties, from Norway, China, Hong Kong, and Arizona, over a 6-day span. All were here more than one night, and I was able to invite my daughters and grandchildren to join us for breakfast and dinner. When my 8-year-old grandson heard that Inga and Oistein, from Norway, were returning for a night a month after he met them, he tried to scheme some way to skip school that day. His reasoning..."Why would I want to waste time at school when I have the opportunity to learn more about Norway." It is wonderful to share these CS experiences with my family.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Last month (Dec 2014) I completed a 2 hour hike in the Amazon jungle. I rate myself as "bottom of the class", but somehow kept up and only walked into 1 tree with 1 resulting minor injury (bump on forehead)

Sept 2015) I will add a second amazing thing...I survived a 30-minute elephant ride in Ko Samui, Thailand
