About Me

Love history, art, reading, outdoors, festivals, and traveling. I believe in actions not words when it comes to loving family, justice, natural resources. I am open- minded and compassionate; devoted to making this world a better place by helping others, educating the community, and sharing information.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet other like-minded individuals who can supply my fix for intelligent and interesting conversation. I live for daytrips to participate with different cultures and throw myself into art, architecture, history, or nature. I am usually the only person in my rural area who finds my favorite events, books, or movies interesting so I attend alone or with halfhearted people; it can be challenging.

I would love to share information a out my area to others and provide a resting spot for travelers.

Interests

Genealogy, History, Sustainable Farming, Mentoring which leads to life coaching, scholarship searches, and college trips. I believe no one should be "stuck" so I read and research a lot and share info like crafting class at nearby library, free college music recitals, online/ cc courses.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- all but sweet spot for Reggae

Movies- I will watch Elizabeth, Sense&Sensibility, Anonymous, Family Stone, Annie('14), This Christmas, Love Actually over and over again. I love documentaries, indp films, scifi.

Books- Historical, Classics; avid reader who dislikes romance novels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survive Brain Tumor...had surgery that left me paralyzed. I learn to walk and speak before my 39th birthday.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in learning and listening- it is just how we grow and mature.

I like to say I can teach anyone and I have the patience of Job but times have made me selective in who I teach and impatient with ignorance and intolerance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great Conversation, Genuine Concern and Creole Cooking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Bahrain, Mexico
