ABOUT ME

I've always been a creative type. I draw, sew, paint, make all sorts of craft-y things. I would describe my lifestyle as modern bohemian. I usually have little money, and when I ever have a larger amount I like to spend it on things that enrich my quality of life: travelling, doing things with friends, great food, concerts, theatre, well-crafted clothing.
I work mainly in theatre, and enjoy functioning in a collaborative artistic community.
I have been described as friendly, quirky, eccentric, sometimes quiet, and... interesting. But, aren't we all?

PHILOSOPHY

Having a wide range of experiences (while staying, you know, reasonably safe, being smart about the risks you take). Having an open mind, being fine with having your views challenged and being able to adapt to new ones when it makes sense. Make sure you live for all the things that makes the human experience so great. Feeling happy that we are so fortunate. Music is my religion, if I ever have to declare one. I enjoy the nuance of spirit of a place and time: it lives in the curves of architecture, the quaint coffee shops, the sounds of public transit, the instrument being played from the balcony, the way the air feels. That stuff. And the taste of croissants.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had a few couchsurfing experiences independently from this website! I've stayed with a range of people from new acquaintances to old friends, sometimes for work, and sometimes for holiday. One time I was working on a design for a play, and I slept on my director's couch for a week and a half. Another time I went to visit a friend in Toronto, and I slept on the floor for a week! It was not half bad actually.

Interests

I love doing yoga,especially hot yoga. Eating healthy food, and sharing knowledge about health-related things especially from the holistic approach. Fashion design, especially of the recycled & sustainable variety. Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite things in life. I love bicycles, especially the vintage/racing variety.

Books: I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman. Also Sartre.
Movies: are great, but I'm more into TV miniseries. Especially if produced in UK.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taking in some beautiful Expressionist opera. Seeing the Flaming Lips play a live outdoor concert. Being in Edinburgh for Hogmanay. Being part of a creative artistic team that has put together a very successful and satisfying production. Travelling long distances to be reunited with dear friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

sewing, drawing, painting (especially scenic painting!), costume making, a bunch of other things. I'd like to learn more about any of those things, and about ways to use computer software for artistic purposes. Also more about bikes.
