Music, Movies, and Books

While I enjoy music and movies, I'm not an enthusiast of either by any means. I do enjoy dramas but would rather go do things than sit and watch movies. For music, I listen to a wide range but don't really like Country, Contemporary Christian, or Heavy Metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing Christmas I've ever experienced was in Cairo, Egypt in 2004. A friend and I attended an Anglican Church on Zamalek (the Island our dorm was on) off and on during our stay. When Christmas rolled around, we grew homesick and looked forward to the service so it would really feel like the Holidays. The place was packed with Expats, Egyptians, and Sudanese and everyone sang Christmas songs together in their own languages under the leadership of an equally diverse choir. It was the most beautiful Christmas experience imaginable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've tutored ESL to people of many ages from around the world including Turkey, Korea, China, Japan, and India. I enjoy helping others with their spoken English skills.

My day job is providing administrative support to teaching artists that teach art & design to Detroit area kids. I also teach an undergraduate class teaching Freshmen at the College for Creative Studies tools to become successful students that will transfer to their professional careers.

I am a costume designer that specializes in burlesque (specifically nerdlesque) costumes and have taught countless people to sew over the years.

I love to cook and look forward to sharing/swapping recipes with visitors from around the world.
