About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission?! I'm afraid I've got some clichés going on here.. Firstly, I'm always very successfully aiming to be happy. Very important to me also is to try and do something positive for others than myself.
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Lynn. As most CS members I'm fascinated with getting to know people from all over the world, whether on holidays or in my home town. For a while now I've been taking on every opportunity I get to explore the world, and my last adventure was Brazil! As I have the weird interest in social aspects of theatre, dance, music, arts, etc., or the link between sociology and arts & media I really had to go to Brazil: the country of Augusto Boal and many other great cultural/artistic activities. What else about me... I'm over enthusiastic so be warned that if you decide to surf my couch I will take you to every thing I can think of in the small town of Wageningen!
PHILOSOPHY
I guess the essence of all my philosophies is that I'm an optimistic person. And I am so enthusiastic about mostly anything that people in my surroundings have created the term 'Lynnatic' for overly enthusiastic behaviour.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
meeting people from all over the world is my life! Within and outside of CS. I always love hosting people, though being a student I'm used to living in 12m rooms, so I don't expect to have much luxury or privacy to offer any time soon. I hope to find people willing to invite me over during my future journeys and get to know them.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It was particularly during my stay in Brasil that I had the best experiences making me a huge fan. I met my great friend Fabio who was so hospitable, and as I was new and not aligned to some job or university CS offered a great way of meeting people and making friends. I won't forget the CS parties on palm tree beaches in Recife till late at night with people from all over the world speaking mixtures of portuguese, english & spanish.
Interests
mostly: anything related to people.
arts, theatre, music
volleyball
I really love a good dance every now and then, whether at home or in a nice café. Also I always really enjoy music jam sessions, cooking creative vegetarian dishes with friends...
Though I like studying, I'm also always very busy with all sorts of things on the side, such as organising projects with refugees, setting up exchange programmes for youths, preparing theatre workshops, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
I won't tell about all I like, but I can definitely recommend the documentary 'Women are Heroes', about a beautiful art project by some French artists who traveled the world to make sure some of the most neglected members of cities weren't just ignored by their fellow citizens. Amazing project.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lived in a slum in Recife, Brazil for half a year... and was able to visit the coolest sites of this city: Afro- and Indigenous-Brazilian religious rituals, slum parties, and above all, the places where the coolest people of the city live, dance, make music!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach people Dutch, English, basic Portuguese...
Tell you all about arts & social change...
