About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Looking on the bright side, spreading warmth, baking cupcakes, having fun, beating others in Monopoly, making our cats happy.
ABOUT ME
Married working couple with baby boy, like to meet travellers. Although both of us work, we should be available for couchsurfers during the weekend. Haarlem is a great city, conveniently close to Amsterdam on the east and the beach on the west!
Lynn loves her job teaching English at a secondary school, does the cooking and most of the housekeeping (but the latter badly, hygiene freaks need to stay away from us, haha). Nanne works full time so will be good company in weekends, but not really on weekdays. After work, he dabbles in local politics or church volunteering. Neither of us are the clubhopping kind, preferring to stay in with a nice glass of wine and a book, movie or game for entertainment. We are non-smoking cat-lovers.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would be treated is something we subscribe to. In other words: be nice to people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Love showing people around town when possible, and trying to meet up with fellow couchsurfers when abroad.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've hosted once, and had a cup of coffee with a fellow-couchsurfer during one of our minibreaks. Otherwise still eager for more!
Interests
One major shared interest is that all of us enjoy good food and drink (well, the baby doesn't drink much besides lemonade). Lynn loves flamenco dancing, crafting, baking and reading, whereas Nanne is fond of reading books, listening to classical music and pondering over solutions to all kinds of global problems. We both like to go walking in the woods, discussing all sorts of things, or going to a museum (although we only really get around to the latter during vacations, which is a shame..)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The trick is to see something amazing in even the smallest, ordinary event...
Teach, Learn, Share
Lynn would love to exchange recipes! Furthermore, I would really like to discuss (English) literature, to see if there are any works I need to pass on to my students. Finally, crafting together? Awesome!
Nanne is in for any discussion on philosophy, politics or history.
Our baby boy loves anything involving balls, cars, animals or food :)
