About Me

A bubbly Scottish lass wanting to learn and share. I am a very creative person: I worked as an actress and went to drama school, I did a foundation course in acting and lived in London. Books and plays are my thing and I love to write also. I currently work as a barista and I am starting a degree in English Literature at The University of Glasgow in September. I'm a vegan and a very earthy person; I cycle everywhere and hill walk as much as I can. Food is also my life: I eat it, cook it, brunch it, lunch it. If I were lucky enough to stay with you, I'd whip you up a great meal!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My plan for summer is to travel Italy for 2 months. I am au pairing outside of Florence for 5 weeks and the other 3 I am exploring beautiful Italia! I think it comes from being an actress that my greatest interest is understanding different ways of being. Living the way others do. Thus why travelling is so important to me, it expands my mind. As I said before I want to learn and share; I want to meet new, beautiful, amazing people and have new, amazing experiences. Couch surfing allows people to make new friends and I believe every great traveler has couchsurfed at some point, so now it's my turn. Plus the perks of having someone who knows the city will be nice...:D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I like a lot of different beats: Tash Sultana, Khadja Bonet, Fka Twigs,
But Rihanna is everything.
Film is hard for me because there are so many I could chose. I do believe film is an art and should explore social and political issues. I watched Foxfire recently, which was about a child runway, I really liked it. There's a great film called Las Elegidas, which explores prostitution in South America. But on a more mainstream note I really like Casino, the godfather: part 2 (I like mafia movies, which is probably an underlying reason for my coming to Italy) and this is so embarrassing but it has a purpose: Chicken run. It makes me so nostalgic of my childhood and the jokes are classic, love it.
Books: I love reading short stories: The yellow wallpaper, A jury of her peers, etc. Yup, I'm a feminist. T.S.Eliot is also a babe.
