About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To chase the sunshine (usually!) and 'live like a local'... the less wandered path the better! I love experiencing new cultures, wandering until I get lost and eating weird and wonderful food :)
I spend my days working in Finance, then spend my free time planning my next trips, exploring London and creating. I design and make clothes, accessories and home furnishings too. I believe in handmade and hope to grow my craft business. The great thing about travelling is all the beautiful fabric I can get my hands on around the world!
ABOUT ME
Hello! I'm on here to broaden my horizons and meet new people both at home and on my (many) travels!
I'm a creative person and very very practical. I have an internal Tom Tom and can generally navigate anywhere (without my smart phone, thank you). I live for the moment and enjoy little snippets of beauty - a quirky piece of street art, beautiful cherry blossoms, old buildings... it's the simple things sometimes :)
Sports- I cycle heaps, play badminton and also do a little boxing. I really love renting a bike to cycle around a new place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling and meeting new people on my adventures.
I want to be a Local for people that come to visit my city; and to meet locals from the places I travel. There's nothing better than getting off the beaten track to sample how people live, real local cuisine, real music and entertainment etc.
Interests
Home:
The beauty of living in London is you can never be bored!! There exists every culture in this city so you can enjoy arts, food and discovery of places around the world!
Every weekend, a new exhibition pops up, new movies are released and new hang-outs are discovered.
I've also been enjoying seeing around London and the suburbs by bike which is a really awesome experience.
Away:
Trying new food! Especially street food where there is an amazing atmosphere.
Wandering until I get lost (tho I always find my way back to the place I'm staying!)
Meeting locals and finding out what they do for fun. Like watching a Bollywood movie in India, water theatre in Vietnam, drinking pina coladas in Cuba...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- I'm quite mainstream, love old music (60s, 70s, 80s) but also love soundtracks from musicals I've seen. Living in London, I've seen Les Mis several times, Lion King, Miss Saigon, Bodyguard, We Will Rock You, Jersey Boys, Once.
Films- I go to the cinema a couple of times a month and enjoy most films - no horror. I love watching films where they are set in places I've been as they bring back such nice memories.
Books- lots!! Douglas Coupland. John Green. Roald Dhal. Zadie Smith.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Scuba dived with seals <3
Came face to face with an orang-utan!
Skydived from a Soviet-era helicopter in Cuba!
Teach, Learn, Share
An alternative intro to my city and a warm welcome to a very cold climate! :)
I'm a fountain of useless knowledge about the UK, if you're interested.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm very proficient in English so happy to do a language exchange (including lots of English and Scottish phrases!); a sense of humour and a massive smile. I also tend to bring a little something from Scotland for my lovely hosts :)
