CURRENT MISSION

My wife Anna and I are collecting experiences and ideas to build a community space focusing on food, art, and the environment in the countryside of Pennsylvania USA. Anna started her own bread baking business a few years ago that is undergoing a transformation to a new space this upcoming season. I am working at an amazing 12 acre organic farm for the 4th year in 2015.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone deserves respect and a chance to follow the path they choose. Embrace good times and bad and learn from everything. We keep open minds.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently traveling. We live in an apartment in Pennsylvnia with little space for guests, we would love to host guests when we are set up for it in a few years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have traveled a bit around the United States, France, Italy, and now Argentina. We try to be conscientious while in other peoples' spaces, contribute to conversations, cleaning, and cooking.

Interests

We are easy going quiet people who like to cook, listen to music, work on a project, read, hike, swim, go out to restaurants, and enjoy some drinks.

We are planning a new business involving food that we grow and animals we raise that uses sustainable energy. We want the business to add to and encourage the supportive community around us. We are still collecting ideas and saving money for the next couple of years before we begin.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-Beck, the Smiths, Spacemen 3, DJ Shadow, Beach House, Miles Davis, Four Tet, Beta Band, Outkast, Manu Chau, Amadou and Miriam, Velvet Underground, and lots more.

Movies - Some directors we enjoy are Werner Herzog, David Lynch, PT Anderson, and other non-pretentious comedies, old classics, and cooking shows.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We just helped set up and host a music and art festival at a small property where 2000 people attended. It is nice to finally relax after a few weeks of very hard work.

Teach, Learn, Share

We want to learn more Spanish. We want to share food and cultural musings from our rural "PA Dutch" country in Pennsylvania. Traveling is helping us gain perspective and opening our minds to the endless possibilities of what we want to accomplish and where we want to see. We can learn something from each person we meet along the way.

What I Can Share with Hosts
