About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To start each day with a positive outlook and make the most of any experience and opportunity.

ABOUT ME

I am enthusiastic, motivated, outgoing, and energetic, but I am also moody and emotional. I love getting out into the world and experiencing things. I adore writing, traveling, meeting people, photography, good food, and being outdoors (hiking, jogging, boating, climbing, etc.).

Some people may say I am a bit of an obsessive person. I love to document things through photography and the written word.

PHILOSOPHY

"'Beauty is truth, truth beauty,'--that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know." - Keats

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: V for Vendetta, Immortal Beloved..
One True Thing..
Nightmare on Elm Street.. (Gotta have the love for Freddy)
American History X..
Music:Rock, country, 80's, rap, gothic and industrial... Really just don't like R&B! :)

Favorites:
Beethoven (Fur Elise)..
NIN (Last)..

Books:When I was 12 I fell in love with Interview with the Vampire... At about age 17 I came to the conclusion that I would cease forcing myself to finish reading every book I began, which drastically cut down on the total number of books I completed. I had become disenchanted with the absolutely overwhelming amount of crappy books out there. I will say, however, that I quite like Kurt Vonnegut.., though admit that his novels almost always fall apart at the end, so it goes... And I say *almost* always only because I haven't read every single one of his novels and feel it would be a slight to him to assume that everything he's written falls apart at the end simply because everything *I* have read by him falls apart at the end. Phew! :) And, like any sane person, I really enjoy the Harry Potter.. series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I experienced the blackout in NYC. I was a flight attendant with American Eagle. I was with my sister in Madrid the morning the trains were bombed in `04. I was walking through Prague with my sister as fireworks began to explode of the Vltava river and Oh Fortuna concluded. I've blogged about a trip to South Africa for Austin-Lehman Adventures. My fiance surprised me with a trip to Poland in 2008 to seek out the regions part of my family came from. Life is pretty great - and traveling just makes it extraordinary.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Photography and retouching with Photoshop. :) I would also like to do some fun free writing projects with people, so if you're interested in learning more about writing or think coming up with random nonsense is a good way to spend time, I'm game.
