Overview
About Me
Hi there! My name is Liubov and I am from Russia. I was born in a beautiful Far-Eastern city of Vladivostok which is located on the Sea of Japan. But currently, I live in Moscow, since I am in the middle of getting a degree in linguistics and intercultural communication in (arguably) the best university of Russia and (for sure) one with the longest history. Currently i am working in an advertising agency in Moscow and being halfway through my higher education torture in Moscow State University.
I am fond of arts and I myself can perform as an artist, from time to time. But my works are better not to be seen, trust me. Still, I graduated from the school of arts, so I can dwell on arts as if I understand it.
Not much left to say about my persona. I plunging into risky businesses, no matter what, going to à différer country to a couple of months or walking 15 kilometers from the urban to my dorm. (And yeah, I live in a dorm at the moment, that's why I can't serve as your host, sorry)
But what you should know about me first, is that I have a somewhat drunk Irish accent, not to mention my sophisticated sense of humor. And also I am simply cool (and humble) people say that I am fun to be around (no, they don’t actually)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a free spirit which is impossible to calm down. I adore exploring and experiencing things firsthand.
And over the top, I am studying intercultural communication. Obviously, it can br satisfying for me to stay in a luxurious hotel with a spa (which is undoubtedly an advantage, actually) while travelling.
I seriously lack this interpersonal communication with the locals to get the fullest out of going abroad. I want to get to know a foreign culture and to share mine, which is possible only by befriending people. And I for one reckon that Couchsurfing is the easiest yet the safest way to do so.
But also it is just cheaper. Let's be honest

Music, Movies, and Books
Muse, Hozier, some Russian rap, Ed Sheeran, Iwan Reon, Jeff Buckley. But to be honest, I can listen to any kind of music that fits my mood perfectly. Literally everything from Mozart to Justin Bieber (no judgment, m8)
Amongst my favorite films are such masterpieces as Pirates of the Carribean, Harry Potter series and etc.... Well, here we go again. I like movies that match my current state of mind. I can watch a stupid teenage drama with the same pleasure as an arthouse piece after a Serbian director.
But still, I can probably mention that I prefer detective stories and dark comedies best of all. I think I liked Shaun of the Dead, Shindler's List, some Soviet classic comedies, cartoons ( Studio Ghibli, Lion King, Brother Bear, Russian cartoons) and some series as well (yeah, I am a simple girl, I like Game of Thrones. Didn't you expect too much of me, right?)
And La-La-Land, of course. I am a woman, after all.
Now books. I am a picky reader. It is quite difficult to impress me, but beyond the classic literature of Chekov, Oscar Wilde, Bulgakov, Jules Verne and etc, I am very keen on children's prose ( Le Petit Prince, Mummiy Troll) and I also like modern short stories.
Can't read long works thanks to my short attention span. But I read lots of media press and philosophy instead, 'cause of my university research.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed to the Great Wall in China by steps (without taking a lift instead). Don't ask, my legs still hurt when remember.
Worked as an interpreter. (English-Russian)
Got lost in Germany/England/Italy etc but found my way out
Visited London when the traffic was blocked because of a cycling marathon. So that the city was almost empty and very quiet.
Moved to the opposite part of the country alone to enter the University ( 8 hours flight, tho)
Took a work and travel exchange program and had been living in the US for the several months (5?,4?, lost my count). I worked there as waitress and still made my way out from TN
Teach, Learn, Share
We could share our national cuisine secrets, traditions, and customs. And, of course, I can bring you a bunch of Russian souvenirs.
Language exchange is also highly welcomed.
And I also hope you could give me some basic understanding of the layout of the area around ( city, village, mountain, who knows. Like where to go, what to do).
I am pretty much supportive of an idea to go out somewhere together, but that's truly optional.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I could provide you with my endless gratitude and even follow you on Instagram).
But actually, I could share my knowledge about pretty much everything I more or less understand. You can ask me any questions about Russia (I mean it, ANY), my experience and etc. I could cook you a traditional Russian meal so that you could give it a try (i don’t guarantee the taste quality, tho). I will definitely bring you some souvenirs, I promise.
