About Me

CURRENT MISSION

:)

ABOUT ME

I'm a little bit of a lot of things. Bio in a nutshell: I spent two years in the army, then traveled a little bit, lived and worked in the Netherlands for a year and a half, traveled a little bit more, and now I'm finishing up my Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Media, in Jerusalem.

I can get completely lost in books.
I love the last portion in the cornflakes box.
I like reading the job and house descriptions in the back of the newspapers.
I love traveling but I also like a chill afternoon at home.

PHILOSOPHY

If you think you're too small to make an impact, try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, hosting, events... Spreading the love!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing, or more precisely, the people I met through couchsurfing, have been a very big component in my life. I met some of my coolest friends through the meetings or through surfing and hosting, had many meaningful conversations, changed and polished my views on the world, and most importantly had heaps of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to everything from Muse and Radiohead through Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Regina Spektor, make a pit stop through Amanda Fucking Palmer, and then can make it all the way to oldies and top-40. Rock, pop, indie, dubstep, electronic, eastern, latin... bring it on, I say!

As far as books go - I read mostly fiction novels. I like some sci-fi and some fantasy. I have a love-hate relationship with spending an afternoon with my grandma's paperback romantic novels shelf. I love short stories as well and I'm currently trying to catch up on my classics, though it's taking a while. I always have a book with me, and when I'm travelling I somehow find myself reading even more.

I also like a lot of different styles in movies. I have a pretty big movie collection on my laptop. The only genre I seriously dislike is horror and scary films, and when it comes to comedy I prefer wit over American Pie. Not my cup of tea :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping into the freezing north sea in the Netherlands on January 1st 2012 :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I find that whenever I host or surf with someone, I automatically learn, whether it's about the indigenous Australians, different religions, or that vanilla ice cream goes really well with cherry ice cream.

I know way too much about Israeli history and politics, and a lot about Jewish culture and religion (though I'm not particularly religious myself, I was raised in a moderately conservative family)...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I grew to love cooking so I'm always always ALWAYS up for a nice homemade meal together!
