ABOUT ME

Yep! My name is Artiom and this is almost everything you should know about me :) Life is too short to be spent on hatred and other negative emotions; that's why I try to think positively. Coming from a very multicultural background and having a post-Soviet identity founded by the clash of polarized mentalities, I cannot say that I belong to any particular place in this world. I was born to Russian speaking parents and have lived almost all my life in Moldova, a small but culturally rich and beautiful country in Southeastern Europe.
I like to travel, meet new people, get acquainted with unfamiliar communities, learn about various cultures from locals' perspective by sharing true-life moments with them.
My mind is open to every place I come, each person I meet. I try to find common ground and establish friendly relations with everyone in order to broaden my personal world as well as to enter realms of the others and leave a significant trace if they allow me to.
I support principles of universal equality, mutual understanding, peace and sustainable development. If there's a will, there's always a way. The more I travel and visit places, the more I realize how diverse our world is, however, this is the diversity that unites us together.
I haven't traveled much but being an exchange undergraduate student I lived in the USA for almost one year. Recently, I have completed European Voluntary Service in Gaziantep, Turkey, which lasted from 1 August 2010 to 1 February 2011.
Now I'm back in Moldova, my homeland, working in the only human rights field and trying to contribute to the positive development of Moldova.

I am pretty new to CouchSurfing and how it works. Its capacities and opportunities are only to be discovered by myself at the moment and in nearest future. However, I have a lot friends who have had number of great CouchSurfing experiences all over the world.
