ABOUT ME

My name is Maria Bang. I am 25 years old and danish. I study Art History at the University of Copenhagen. When I am not at university I work as a guide at a museum of contemporary art near the city. I live at a students residence in Copenhagen. I have just returned from Toronto in Canada where I spent a semester studying philosophy. It was very interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am still quite new to CouchSurfing so I don't have much experience yet, but I am looking forward to meeting a lot of people through it and hopefully getting some good friends because of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only tried CouchSurfing a few times before in London, Toronto and Vancouver so as I've written my experience is still limited. I only have positive things to say about it so far though. It's been great. I still haven't hosted anyone yet.

Interests

I love art, especially contemporary art, museums, films, music, litterature and good food. So I am a person who enjoys living in the city. I am also very fond of nature, however, and I like camping and hiking just as much as I enjoy going to concerts, museums and theatres. I love traveling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. This has brought me many interesting places such as Ecuador, Peru, Vietnam and Laos to name a few.

This is difficult, there is so much to choose from...

Authors I like: Haruki Murakami, Paul Auster, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and many more. Just finished 'The Great Gatsby' by Scott Fitzgerald which I enjoyed very much

Music: I am open to most genres. At the moment I listen a lot to Feist, Kings of Convenience, PJ: Harvey, Joan as Policewoman, Leonard Cohen, Elbow, Beirut, Basia Bulat, Fleet Foxes, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, Broken Bells, some old danish hippie music from the 70'ees and much much more.
