Overview
About Me
I love traveling, cooking and eating healthy/good food, having deep conversations about life, learning new things and seeing people transform their lives. I play piano intuitively, which is a way for me to deeply connect. I am currently traveling with my girl friend (who is from Belgium) through Europe. She rented her house out, and both us are currently without a home. Somewhere, after this trip, we hope to find a home in the Netherlands.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I went with a group of my friend's university on a study tour to the Middle East, where we stayed with people we got to know through couch surfing. It was a great experience. When I got a nice home with some friends near the city center in the north of Holland, we provided several couchsurfers a place to stay. It brought the traveling spirit into my life, even though I was not traveling myself. That experience inspired me to extend my own journey into traveling again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One day, traveling with an African friend, I wanted some adventure. After a long day of hustle and finally – and barely – getting a plane to Benin, Nigeria, with too much lugguage, I told my host that I had asked for an adventure that day. He told me: “That is a dangerous question.” We had barely made it and were quite exhausted. I told him: “That is true, but sometimes adventure will get you somewhere you would not have been without it.” He readily agreed.
Another cool experience was celebrating Christmas in a hostel in New Zealand. We were sharing food and had amazing conversations about the meaning of life with people from Germany, Nepal, England and the Netherlands. That was not through couchsurfing, but it was a cool experience.

Teach, Learn, Share
A short trip to Budapest some years ago, taught me about the differences between vacation and traveling. Traveling to me is being open to what happens in between plans. I have become much more open minded because of the traveling attitude, which you can apply even at home and at work. My goal is to have this attitude whatever I do.
