Resumen
Sobre mí
CURRENT MISSION
Learn about the world as much as possible!
Doing a PhD in Human Palaeogenetics (that is, how humans evolved and migrated in the last 50,000 years)
And lately becoming quite into rowing!
ABOUT ME
I am a very open-minded and friendly guy, who loves listening to stories from other people and telling his own stories
PHILOSOPHY
The philosophical goal of my life is very simple: To enjoy learning from the world where I live, as much as I can.
Therefore I enjoy working in the laboratory doing research on ancient genetics, I love learning languages on my own time, I always have a great time talking to people who have traveled the world and who have done incredible things, and I love singing in my choir pieces composed hundreds of years ago.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I'm a student living in student accommodation so I cannot host. However, as soon as I get my own place I'll be really happy to host travellers here :) and in the meantime I'd love to be hosted in the few places that I'll visit!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed a few times: in Sweden, in Finland and in Australia. All amazing experiences, and would recommend to everybody!!
Sadly can't host at the moment, as I live in University-owned accommodation!
Intereses
I love learning foreign languages, and right now I'm fluent in English, Spanish, German, Icelandic, French and Portuguese.
A few years ago, I set myself a challenge: I learnt hindi for 6 months, and the I spent the following summer in India, speaking only Hindi! Showed me how much you can achieve if you really really want it :D
Additionally, I love learning about history, culture, arts, architecture, etc...

Música, películas y libros
Music: Mostly classical music, rock, country (yeah, I know...), and pop. Example of great music group: Of Monsters and Men, Amaral, Beirut...
Example of great classical composer: Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov...
Books: I love Ken Follet's novels (The Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, the new Century Trilogy...) I also love the classics (Charles Dickens, Benito Pérez Galdós, Goethe...) and the classic classics (Plato, Homer, Machiavelli, More...)
Movies: I'm lately quite into scandinavian cinema!
Algo increíble que he hecho
So far? Winning blades with my rowing crew at Cambridge May Bumps 2016 - we're now part of the rowing history of my college! Also learning Icelandic in three months before spending a month in Iceland, or doing the same with Hindi the year after.
One of the best highlights ever was to go to the Klassik Open Air in Nürnberg in 2013. Listening to the Aranjuez Concierto, during a warm, clear german night in august, alongside other 10,000 people was just.... amazing.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I can teach many curious things about how life work within us at a cellular/molecular level. I can also teach about hoe languages have developed and the origin of many of the modern languages and alphabets.
I am willing to learn.... whatever!
