About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Forward momentum

ABOUT ME

Just trying to do some good. I've just begun a two-year Master's program in Public Policy, and I'll be focusing on urban renewal and community development. Along the way I'd like to meet some cool people and have a good time, and I think do alright at both of those things :)

PHILOSOPHY

Be down for whatever.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Radiohead, RJD2, Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation, Metallica, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice in Chains, The Who, Hendrix...the list goes on. Movies that I love: Pulp Fiction, Almost Famous, Children of Men, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Books: Shogun and The Source are awesome books, I've read a lot of Pahlaniuk, Hyperion is great Sci-Fi.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending two years in a village in Malawi was definitely an eye-opener. Navigating the alleyways of Stone Town in Zanzibar at dawn. Climbing Kili. Riding a bike all over Amsterdam on a crisp Fall day. Planning a girls' empowerment camp for Malawian teenagers. Surviving countless minibus rides. Hitchhiking.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning about different cultures, so if you're not American, I'm going to ask you a lot of (likely stupid-sounding) questions about where you come from and the collective psyche there. I'm happy to talk about the different places I've lived in the States, my two years in Malawi, anywhere else I've been. If you want to practice English or French, I'm happy to oblige either language. I don't know if there are any Chitumbuka speakers out there...

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, United States
