About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." (Mark Twain)
ABOUT ME
I moved to Berlin in March this year cause I had fallen in love with the city after visiting my friends here a looooot if times…I am currently writing my Master Thesis for which I did 6 months of fieldwork in Australia last month, which also took me to amazing Arnhem Land again, which remains my favourite spot on earth yet. If I don't write my Thesis I work at a craft beer restaurant, trying to become a beer expert, which shows that I just like including the things I like into my work: beer and cheese, cause in my last job I had to learn everything about cheese…you can see I love good food, hence I cook and bake a lot and I can get very excited about food! :-)
If I don't eat and drink, I love to go for a run or to do some Yoga…I got highly addicted to Acro Yoga last year and I did a tiny bit of practice on the aerial silk, which I'd love to continue as well…
PHILOSOPHY
Every one said "that's impossible!", until someone came who didn't know that and just did it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I found out about couchsurfing on my trip through Australia in 2009/2010 and I mostly had positive experiences. Since I started 'exploring the world' I hosted and stayed with nearly ten people. I love how every single couchsurfing adventure is unique and exciting. I learned things I never expected to learn from every experience and I always enjoyed hosting and surfing a lot. Unfortunately I cannot host where I live at the moment, I am also very busy with writing my Master Thesis but I am happy to meet up if I find time. I only moved to Berlin recently but I love exploring the city so I am looking forward to explore my new home with other travellers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
By now it seems to be a lot in four different countries (Australia, Singapore Germany and Norway...). I always enjoyed meeting other people and every time it amazes me in a new way, that there are so many nice people ready to open their homes to "strangers"...I always tried to help out where I can (unfortunately there was one unlucky stay but please feel free to ask me about this and I´ll explain it)...but overall its totally positive and I am looking forward to the next experiences already. I will travel to Munich in June/July and to Paris in July, and I hope to find a couch there for me and my friend.
I am also heading to Myanmar in October this year together with 2 friends, and we are happy about advices and couch opportunities.
Interests
I love just enjoying life and fresh air, meeting new people, learn more and more and more about other countries, cultures, people, attitudes...=o) I am doing Yoga on a daily basis and although I am not a teacher I am happy to share what I am doing and I looove cooking and baking so there is a high chance that I end up doing some nice german dishes for you or baking some good Pizza...;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To spend nearly one month on a tiny island, without any contact to "the outside world" and no cars or anything else with wheels and barely any elecricity. (Field work training at Tubetube Island, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guine for my BA in Anthropology, 2013).
