My name is Maarij, I'm a 23 year old student born and raised in Edmonton, Canada. I'd describe myself as fairly social, and my passion is learning about interesting facts and new cultures. If you were to look at my Youtube history it would be filled mostly with somewhat niche educational content (on everything from languages, city planning, infrustructure, and fun DIY projects) — along with some comedy (which is my other passion).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I often travel alone despite being somewhat extroverted, so it'll be an awesome chance to make new friends and fully ingrain myself in the local culture. I often find myself going to all the tourist-y areas in cities and getting a very surface understanding of what actually living there would be like, and I'd like to change that.
