G’day mate!

My name is Maarten, a 27 year old Belgian who quit his job to travel around Canada. I'm on a Working Holiday Visa and this allows me to spend a whole year over here. After doing this in Australia two years ago I knew I wanted to do this another time. It’s an awesome opportunity to really experience a country and culture and CS definitely helps here. Meeting locals and seeing how they view their own country is a great bonus. It allows me to better understand the country and culture I’m visiting.

I have used CS during my year in Australia and met some amazing people. I would even go as far as saying that I’ve had some of my best moments of the trip thanks to this platform. Nothing beats local knowledge, how else do you know where to find the best coffee? :)

I have started my adventure in Montreal and travelled through Quebec province to Toronto where I am at the moment. Haven’t decided yet if this is he end of my journey of if I will return to Montreal. Or maybe I should go somewhere else, let’s meet for coffee and you can let me know!

To become more open minded and learn from different cultures. My previous CS experiences have shown me what an awesome place the world is. The best way to get to know a city is through the eyes of a local. It opens your own eyes and adds great value to a trip. For me travelling is all about the people you meet along the way. So hopefully I can meet as many of you as possible.
