Born in Netherlands, grew up in Australia. I have an enquiring mind and many interests... organic gardening, making and repairing things, beekeeping, nature and the environment, travel, people and cultures, slow food, excellent knowledge of Australia and its history and people.

Survived being trapped in a cult for 12 years from 1979 to 1991, and with some years of study, writing, reading ( and no drugs), to come to understand the experience and build a "new life", starting off with Nothing (no stuff) and a small box of tools.
