I like to write - short stories and (spoken word) poetry. I can read you some if you ask me to ;)

I used to organise art projects with vulnerable teenagers and adolescents - I organised exhibitions, art festivals, wrote an Arabic-Dutch book, had an open mic for rap, slam poetry and hip hop, taught creative writing, ...

Beside work, I always spent about 2-4 months a year volunteering abroad, in the refugee crisis on Lesvos, Greece. Recently I quit my job to start traveling and volunteering around the world. I think I enjoy living life to the fullest, following my passions and whatever feels right. So we'll see where I end up ;)

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I started couchsurfing a couple of years back when I did a long hitchhiking trip across the US (from NY to LA). Loads of fun :)

Interessen

I like literature, I like reading - mostly Dutch & English stuff, mostly modern literature, American literature. The last few years I've also been reading a lot about racism, neocolonialism, decolonisation, etc. So I like Toni Morrison and James Baldwin.

I like music a lot. Mostly listen to jazz, hip hop, funk, soul, afrobeat, ... But really just a lot.

I like movies, especially arthouse.

I used to work as a theatre and dance critic in a past life.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I volunteered in the Greek refugee crisis. Day- & nightshifts spotting for boats trying to cross the ocean, helping them to land. Also worked on of the worst refugee camps in the world. And saw it burn down in the end.
