About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Getting my reply rate up (lol).

ABOUT ME

I like meeting new people and get to know them. On average I'm very open, I don't mind telling about my personal life. I spend time with people from all walks of life, which I think is very interesting. I try to be polite and be friendly but I think I can be kinda direct, which is a typical Dutch trait.
I studied Future Planet Studies and have a major in Business Studies and Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. I've a broad spectrum of interests but nothing beats spending time and connecting with people.
Most the time I'm down to earth and easy going but I'm a quite emotional person too who can be mesmerized by and passionate at all the great things this world has to offer. I'm quite open-minded and don't judge quickly, if you try to put yourself in someone else's shoes most of the time other's behavior makes sense.
I was very shy in the past but not so much anymore, couch surfing helped me a lot in that regard.

I'm not going as often anymore but I still love to go to techno parties!

Ask anything you want, I'm not easily offended! I live in the city center of Amsterdam

PHILOSOPHY

One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.
Be the change you want to see in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm not always in the mood to host so that's why I like to host people on short notice. Please don't send me a request for more than a week in advance.

I like having new experiences. Most of the time I just want to have a good time with people I meet or just help people out. But the most interesting thing about couch surfing is (imo) that you have the possibility to share your life and home with people who experienced a different upbringing and/or culture, who have different skills etc. I like to have trust in people and share with them if I feel "good vibes".

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted about 25 times, had a couple of meet-ups but never surfed myself.

Interests

I have a lot of interest and opinions about various topics but I'm not too knowledgeable about most :)
I find most, if not all, scientific disciplines fascinating and interesting, especially psychology, economics and politics.

Other interests include poker, music and couch surfing ;)

One thing I don't like are conspiracy theories about 9/11 and the illuminati new world order and such.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've watched waaaay to much tv series, like Sopranos, Game of Thrones, the Wire, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, the Walking Dead, Prison Break, Lost and many more :)

I like almost any kind of music, depending on my mood and the atmosphere!

I don't like to do favourites, it is more interesting and meaningful to look at things in their own context. I mean, how to compare classical music with today's techno for example?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting my PADI underwater diving "licence" in Curaçao.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can learn you some Dutch words, some basic poker skills or how to twist a joint. And my thoughts and feelings, my "life story" etc. I like to share as much as possible with my surfers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share food by cooking some dinner, drinks, share stories etc.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Curaçao, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom
