Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm May and I'm from The Netherlands. I've been travelling around the globe for the past few years to break free from the concept called comfort zone. Once abroad I realised that boundaries are a phenomenon created by peoples conception. Life is only confined by our own thoughts, which are just pictures stored in our brain and we believe them to be true. It's the thoughts, those stored pictures, what's makes us suffer, not the actual events. To set yourself free from those minds is freedom and happiness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To stretch up my mind and see the world from different perspectives, to have a good time and enjoy the present moment together and to prove that friendship and connection goes beyond borders and distances.
Live now, love now. It's all we really have.
Interests
The things I love are travelling and sharing experiences, exchanging cultures, last minute road trips, chilling in the park, morning jogs, live music, dancing like no one is watching, barefeet walks on the beach, scuba diving, meditation, cooking food together, watching sunset at the beach, clubbing, photography and trying to capture beautiful nature and people, gazing at the stars at night, reminiscing about life, winewinewine, sharing food, the smell of fresh cut grass, longtime dinners♡

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
My taste of music is a broad collection of pop, (oldschool) rock, HH, EDM and dub. I'm also a fan of briging my guitar to the park and just chilling with friends and a bottle of red. If you play my guitar, I'll take care of the wine. I explain later why :)
BOOKS
I like to read about human mind, crime and autobiographies.
MOVIES
Shutter Island, The Green Mile, Men Of Honor, Inception, The Shawshank Redemption, Into The Wild.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was so fortunate to participate as a researcher within a dolphin therapy centre in the Caribbean, to swim with mantarays in Bali and with reef sharks and crocs in Australia, to eat paellas on a daily base when I lived on Mallorca and tried my first moulles in fromage when I worked in Valras Plage in the South of France. I've adapted my taste buds to spicey kimchi and got a addiction to rice cake while I was doing a meditation study for 5 months in the mountains of South Korea.
Teach, Learn, Share
The great thing about coachsurfing is to meet so many different people. And yet...we have so much in common! To travel around the world and to know what it's like to call many places 'home'.
I love to hang out together with likeminded people, to explore new places on the way and to learn from others.
