About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Carpe Noctem, live forever, never die and never grow old and keep traveling.

ABOUT ME

Hmmmm, hard to answer but I'll do my best...

First of all, I don't expect you to read my profile, I think it's best to meet me and get to know me, however if you wish, here we go!

I am and always will be me in some form or another.

I don't smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one likes to describe themselves and people usually get it wrong. So all I can say is I guess my references can speak for me...

The facts...

I'm a bitsa... bitsa this and bitsa that, however 100% Aussie (Australian). I'm told I'm a nice person, I guess that depends on who you talk to, I think I am, but human is, what human does and I'm almost human. Some say I am crazy, everyone I meet in fact and even people I have not met, but fun crazy.

I grew up in outback Australia, I have stories about that. I've lived in a lot of places in Australia, so I know my country well... I lived around crocodile and other dangerous animals and the nice ones as well (kangaroo). I'm a traveler and I use Couchsurfing extensively, therefore I like to make people as comfortable as possible and I like people to be at ease when I'm with them. I like to think I'm easy going and in some respects I am, however I do like what I like and some times I just don't feel like doing something.

I'm creative (Artist and Photographer), however I'm not your typical artist... then again maybe I am. I have had a wide variety and a lot of jobs, which I end up leaving for various and obvious reasons. I studied Architecture and Multimedia, I don't work at the moment because I travel. Sometimes I work in multimedia (love it), which includes web design, DVD menu design, graphic design, pre-visualisation, opening and end credits and 3D Architectual rendering/design among other things.... anything creative really. Therefore it means I like interesting things and hate being bored. I'm also a blues musician...

I'm interested in the unusual, the strange, out of the ordinary, the stuff that life is made of and that most people are afraid of.

As I said earlier, I don't smoke and would prefer non smoking hosts or at least hosts who smoke outside, of course this is not set in stone.

I joined Couchsurfing, in an effort to reduce my costs while traveling, meet local and interesting people as I explore the world. I'm curious about life and like to see and experience as much as possible, not just the main touristic places but the less trodden areas, non touristic places, I want to dive into the culture, and the fastest way to do this is to meet local people and have them show me their world, the best places to go and the best things to see. I have read about how many people have the desire to travel and make money while traveling, not to mention the people I have met traveling through Europe and on CouchSurfing, who have the same dream. I think we could help each other by simply knowing and getting to know people. I know people from all walks of life and I would like to utilise their knowledge and the knowledge of this group.

So for me, I'm passionate about being creative and traveling, first of all I'm an Artist and Photographer, I also enjoy Multimedia and of course all creative endeavors. I traveled (Backpacking and hitch-hiking) through Europe for over 4 years, and now I'm looking for a way that would allow me to work and travel at the same time. The perfect way is to find a company like (Lonely Planet) for example, or companies, independent businesses or individuals who would allow me to travel and work remotely. Bottom line is, I want to keep traveling and I want to keep photographing and documenting my travels and have exhibitions... I know there are a lot of people who would love to travel without worrying about money, therefore for me, and one of the reasons why I joined online sites like Behance, Pinterest, Freelance and Elancer, is to make connections and meet people with the same idea.

Anyway, that's all from me for now, stay safe and dream big. Thank you for your time............

Cheers...

PHILOSOPHY

Live life to the full with no regrets and experience everything life has to offer because life is too short, we regret not doing things out of fear, the fear of what if.... what if I fail but what if you don't, what if... it's the best thing to happen to you. I try not to let opportunities go to waste and I have a habit of jumping into things head first, without knowing what the outcome might be and from time to time make mistakes (consciously or unconsciously), because this is the way to achieve wisdom, not to mention, major story-telling potential!

In the immortal words of J.R.R. Tolkien "Not all those who wander are lost".

In the immortal words of Mark Twain: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover".

In the immortal words of Benjamin Franklin "Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that's the stuff life is made of".

In the immortal words of John Lennon "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".

In the immortal words of Jimi Hendrix "I'm the one that has to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life, the way I want to."

In the immortal words of Janis Joplin "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose, Nothing, I mean nothing honey if it ain't free."

"Oh, who needs that sentimental bullshit, anyway
You know it takes more than just a memory to make me cry
And I'm happy just to sit here round a table with old friends
And see which one of us can tell the biggest lies" - Jimmy Barns

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I could write...... hello I'm....bla, bla, bla...

However, to be honest... I would like to meet you because.... I don't know you and have never met you and think I would like to..... A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet.

However for those who need it, here it is........
I travel, hitch-hike and Couchsurf, I like meeting people and enjoy having coffee/drink, maybe good traditional food with the hosts and hearing about all the interesting places to see, in and around the area, but I also like to explore the place as well and do my own thing. I don't expect hosts to be my personal tour guide, however it would be nice to go places together, if you have time.

Because I don't have a rigid Itinerary or time restrictions, the dates are totally flexible, sometimes I get sidetracked and don't always arrive when I say I am going to be there, but I do try my best and I always let my hosts know, this is what traveling is about and I don't want to miss anything. You never know where the road may take you, traveling is chaos and more times then not blissful chaos (the reason I travel) the excitement of the unknown and unexpected and life is too short, right. Also if the dates are not good for you let me know and maybe we can work something out.

I don't travel with a phone, therefore if you accept my request, please provide as much information as you can, for example, a contact phone number and directions to your couch. That way if I don't get your massage before I leave, at least I will be able to contact you when I arrive or just find you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I always thought my life was ordinary until I started to share my life story and experiences growing up in a small country town in Australia, with people on my travels. I don't know about amazing, but maybe interesting and funny to some, for example, I had two Kangaroos in my backyard when growing up.

I also made my own and can play a Didgeridoo.

I've been travelling for a long time.
