ABOUT ME

I'm California-grown, but expanding that sense of self, spending more and more time discovering how many beautiful things exist to see and do in this world, how many amazing people to meet and interact with, trying to explore and contribute what I can.

I like to think I keep my head a decent balance between my shoulders and the clouds.

At my most honest moments, I'm silly, because life is fun, and so I'm also thankful. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've had the opportunity to meet and stay with some amazingly generous other CSers and hosts in the States so far, as well as my first international CS foray in South America a few years back. I love hosting as well whenever I'm settled somewhere. My current teaching schedule, however, is pretty overwhelming so I'm taking a bit of a break, until I can be a more present and involved host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The experience has been so much more fulfilling and memorable than just staying in hostels, sightseeing, doing tours, etc. I love being able to provide the same for travelers when I host, and have made some great friends and had truly meaningful interactions doing so.

I have surfed in Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Colorado, USA; Lima, Peru; and Cordoba, Argentina, and hosted in Berkeley, CA.

Interests

Being outdoors, hiking, camping, seeing as much of this planet as I can; random impromptu adventures; live music, art, and festivals; singing; yoga; ecstatic dance; crafting of many sorts; staring at the sky; talking about paradoxes and the weirdness of existence.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I'm really into old sci-fi novels and stories. Music--too hard to categorize or decide on favorites, I enjoy the experience of listening to music almost always. Not really into watching movies, although occasionally.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunrise over Arenal on the horizon from a field station outside of Monteverde, Costa Rica... most beautiful, breathtaking sight of my lifetime!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me anything! My mind is always thirsty. Right now I'd especially love to learn more about farming and permaculture, and how to play more musical instruments. And to practice my Spanish!
I teach high school biology if anyone's interested in those topics... or I can teach you how make ice cream or kombucha or to knit some fun stuff.
