Overview
About Me
I come from a remote Scottish island with more sheep than humans, and where a relatively large percentage of locals still speak the ancient indigenous language of Gaelic. It is the first language of my dear Mother.
I don't smoke, drink, or take drugs. I did far too much of those things when I was younger, but eventually it lead to trouble so I decided to turn my life in a completely opposite direction.
I've been following a vegan lifestyle since 2012, therefore I eat a plant-based diet, but I'm not the type to debate, condemn, or impose upon others. To each their own.
I am a street performer, singing with a guitar or ukelele.
I am a lifelong supporter of Liverpool Football Club. I loved to watch football growing up, and I played many years for a local team, but nowadays I only make time to watch LFC.
I love animals, but if I had to choose favourites then it would be Cat, Tortoise, Owl, or a weird hybrid form of all three.
I was born on Halloween which might explain why I am plentiful in personality peculiarities.
I am a low-maintenance person.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sleeping at the home of a stranger has almost always been a more pleasant and unique experience than a hostel or tent because I have met so many kind-hearted and like-minded locals who included me in their everyday life, introduced me to new people, places, and experiences, or simply provided a welcoming and safe environment to share special moments together. I like to learn, so I am curious about people, what they choose to do with their lives, and how they interpret this human experience. My old CS profile had many references but I cannot access it now. When I am settled with my own place I will definitely host travellers from every part of the world, whether using a website or not.
Music, Movies, and Books

...and many more!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Street performance because it gave me the confidence and financial means to keep travelling around the world continuously, more than 50 countries in a nine year period, from 2015 until 2024. It also taught me how rewarding and fun travelling on a budget can be, although one should be willing to make sacrifices, and one should be willing to leave their comfort zone, for example, hitchhiking, bikepacking, street performance, volunteering, cheap hostels, communal living, wild/stealth camping, self sustainability, or accepting an invitation to sleep at the home of a stranger. The happiest period of my life was most simple and scarce.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach about fasting since I have completed many prolonged dry, water, and fruit juice fasting periods. The results convinced me that it is the most powerful (and free) healing method available to us. For example, I had almost complete loss of hearing in my left ear cured by fasting. I also experienced that prolonged fasting combined with a sustained inner silent state of meditation can produce a profound and meaningful experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to help around the home.
Happy to help with English vocabulary.
I could also teach how to play guitar.
I could even perform live music, or we could sing together, but not everybody will appreciate that, so let me know!
