About Me
I'm Macarena, I'm 26 years old and live in Santiago, Chile. I've been travelling around Asia and Europe for 5 months and have another month in Europe to go. I decided to travel so I could break away from the 9-5 routine, try new things and experience different cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to meet new friends and different cultures. Staying in local homes to save money and keep travelling around.
Interests
Lover of nature and outdoors life.
I like to enjoy nature in a respectful way. During my life I've had the opportunity to camp in beautiful places, with lots of biodiversity.
I like any activity where I can enjoying nature: trekking, camping, climb mountains, etc.
But really what I like the most is the sea. I completed my diving certificate, which was amazing! The sea is full of natural beauty and marine life, through diving I'm able to explore a brand new world. (And see lots of turtles ) haha.
I like to travel because it's full of new experiences, where I can learn about new cultures. My favourite part of travelling is meeting new people who I can learn things from.
Besides traveling, I can know different beautiful places.
I love to eat, try new things, typical and local foods, as I believe that every silver hides a history and tradition. But not only I like to eat, I like to cook and learn from people cooking tips and then share them with the people I love.
I think that food unites people, and cooking for someone is a sign of affection and gratitude.
Other activities I like is dance and go out.
- dancing

Music, Movies, and Books
About the music, I do not have a defined style, I listen to music according to my mood. A band that I really like is Daft Punk.
I like latine music to dance.
I prefer movies than books.
Most of the books I have read are from movies.
However now I'm reading "The alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. (I really like it)
