ABOUT US

Hey! we're Dani and Maca. Maca was born in Argentina but she moved to Spain when she was 10. Dani's Catalan and we've been together for nearly 15 years. During this time, we've traveled to amazing places and lived in very different countries. We are living in Olot (150 km from Barcelona).
Olot is rich in nature. Surrounded by volcanoes and mountains, the landscape is unique. Besides traveling and meeting people, we love animals. We both volunteer at the local animal shelter and spend a good amount of our free time taking care of the dogs and cats there. Where we have rescued two cats, Renata and Tapín.

PHILOSOPHY

We live a simple life and enjoy doing activities together. Sustainability plays also an important role in our lives. We try to be as respectful as possible of the environment. Reducing plastic, water consumption, and imported products are some of the habits we've adopted for nearly 10 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During our trips, we've been guests- couchsurfers, and the experience was amazing! we met some of our best friends while visiting different cities and once we moved together, we wanted to give back to the Couchsurfing community what we received!

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild, The Last Trapper, Ip Man, Sometime in April, El Secreto de sus ojos, The golden dream...we enjoy any kind of music, but we really like Latin music and we can even dance a bit! Documentaries are always our first choice if we stay at home. David Attenborough in particular is among our favourite narrators. Our Planet, Frozen Planet or Planet Earth are among our favourite ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We're passionate travelers. One of the most touching experiences so far was Canada and the US. While Maca was doing an exchange in Montreal, we took some time to travel the East coast of Canada and The States. During those months, we came to know very interesting people, some of them are still close friends. Another incredible trip we did was during our honeymoon. In 2018 we did the 7 lakes route (Ruta de los 7 Lagos) by bike, camping in some of the most beautiful places we've ever been in the South of Argentina.

Teach, Learn, Share

We're always trying to improve our language skills, especially French since we speak English pretty well already. We're also open to teaching Spanish and Catalan, and sharing some Spanish cuisine secrets!
