About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I am not sure what to say. I'm a gardener/farmer, WWOOFer, permaculturalist, "carpenter", recycler, homebrewer, communitarian, traveller... I had been homesteading on my dad's farm in rural Indiana for the past few years... also involved with a nature sanctuary/alternative community called Lothlorien south of Bloomington Indiana... took a 5 month trip out to the west coast and back, WWOOFing and visting communes and ecovillages. The year before that I took a similar trip with Jason Rinehart through the southeast. I sometimes travel for work too.

Now I'm ready to get out of here again.

PHILOSOPHY

Know something about everything and everything about something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed all over the US, seeking out communes, ecovillages, camping, couchsurfing, and meeting great people. I have always been open to letting whoever wants to crash when I'm home, but as yet haven't hosted through CS. We are settled in a rural area in Indiana for now and potentially taking surfers. Since we are on a remote farm unlikely to draw many couchsurfers, we are also hosts on WWOOFUSA.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done some couch-surfing in Memphis and Austin, then surfed Florida extensively in Homestead, Miami, Tampa, St. Pete, & Gainesville, and Savannah for St. Patrick's. Gina and I had 3 great couchsurfing experiences on an extended trip to the west coast and back in Bellingham, WA, Portland, OR, and Las Vegas, NV.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the greatest experience of my life so far has been Burning Man... Also driving through the west half of the United States over 5 months with my ex girlfriend and visiting communes. currently living in On Big Island of Hawaii brewing Kombucha, beer, and jun.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can identify various edible mushrooms and wild plants, know how to brew beer and mead, and can teach chess. I have experience as a carpenter. I'd like to improve my rudimentary Spanish skills.
